PPF currently earns 7.1% per annum, compounded annually and credited on 31 March. The government reviews the rate every quarter, so it can change.
How much can I deposit in PPF?+
You can deposit between ₹500 and ₹1,50,000 per financial year, and the account matures after 15 years (extendable in 5-year blocks).
How much does PPF grow to?+
Investing the full ₹1,50,000 every year for 15 years at 7.1% grows to about ₹40.68 lakh — roughly ₹22.5 lakh invested plus ₹18.18 lakh interest. PPF is fully tax-exempt (EEE).
