Estimate of 2026 US federal income tax + FICA only; excludes most state/local taxes. Not tax advice — withholding follows IRS Pub. 15-T.
Frequently asked questions
Did the 2026 federal tax rates change?+
No major change — the 2026 federal rates stay at 10%, 12%, 22%, 24%, 32%, 35% and 37%. The 2017 tax-cut rates were made permanent by the One Big Beautiful Bill (2025), so there was no jump to a 39.6% top rate.
How much is FICA in 2026?+
Social Security is 6.2% of wages up to the $184,500 wage base (a maximum of $11,439), and Medicare is 1.45% with no cap. An extra 0.9% Medicare tax applies to wages above $200,000 (single) or $250,000 (married filing jointly).
Does this include state income tax?+
Nine states have no wage income tax (Alaska, Florida, Nevada, New Hampshire, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Washington, Wyoming) — choose that option for $0. For other states, enter your rate; full state brackets and local taxes are not modelled.
